S-Q-L or Sequel?
I remember more then a year ago a discussion during one of the first meetings of the SQLUG team a pretty hectic discussion on how to pronounce SQL.
To my great relief this discussion can now come to an end after reading this blogpost
quoting:
This has been a debate for as long as i've known.
How to pronounce SQL? ess-cue-el or sequel?
Each one has it's own supporters. But only one is correct.
And the winner is (drum-roll here):
S-Q-L (ess-cue-el)
And how can i be so sure about that?
It's ANSI declared.

in the meantime I can also announce the next meeting featuring Paul Randal from MSFT about Secrets of Fast Detection and Recovery from Database Corruptions, you can subscribe here, location is the Microsoft premises in Diegem-BXL
