Year in review..and yes it’s my birthday :-)
It’s been a year ago since i turned 31 so this makes me now a 32 year old man :-). A lot has happened in this last year…
- Professionally : I left my previous work to start up my own company and Integreat was born. It has been a like riding a rollercoaster but at greater speeds :-p. (thx Wim, Louis & Bart II)
I enjoyed all of the projects we took on and implemented lots of new things to the joy of the customers I hope. I worked with some of the latest Microsoft technologies including system center virtual machine manager and data protection manager, so this includes playing around in the virtualisation and consolidation area. I even will be featured on the Microsoft Technet Edge website covering a project around virtualisation.
Performed quit some projects and large migrations on MS Exchange 2007 and learned a lot from our internship boys who did a project on UC using OCS.
Integreat is here to stay !
- Personally : I started taking scubadiving lessons and I’m enjoying every minute of it. It makes you forget that there’s a professional life while underwater. Great Fun!
Bought me some great music albums (too many to sum up) and saw lots of good gigs.
Our acquarium collection doubled and so does our Malawi cichlid population (how to make them not breed?).
- Community : The SQL server user group I helped starting up (how long has it been?) has become a full blown official organisation and we are facing up towards our first real big event around the SQL2008 launch. Since i’m responsible for the web thing site watch out for that one because we are building some nice stuff that will be released soon (time time time…)
I went to lots of evenings and events organised by other Belgian communities and helped kickstarting some others. The Belgian communities rule… and the people who run them also :-)
This makes me ready for some vacation time i’ll spent next week biking Holland and Germany and doing some scubadiving in Belgium waters…
back to the techie stuff now…
